What is a Seiko mod?
A Seiko mod is a watch built from aftermarket parts around a Seiko-made movement. We take design cues from iconic watches and assemble each one by hand, so you get a classic look with a reliable Japanese automatic inside.
Does my watch have the Seiko logo?
Yes. Every watch is built with the Seiko logo on the dial. Our main product photos show a clean dial, and the build photos in each listing show the logo on the actual watch.
What movement is inside?
Every watch runs on a Japan TMI NH35 automatic, the highest-quality version of the NH35. It hacks (the seconds hand stops while you set the time), can be wound by hand, and has about 41 hours of power reserve. You can watch it work through the exhibition caseback.
What is 904L stainless steel?
904L is the grade of stainless steel Rolex uses. It contains more chromium, nickel and molybdenum than the 316L steel found in most watches, which makes it more resistant to corrosion and gives it a brighter polish. Our cases and steel bracelets are 904L.
Should I choose 36mm or 39mm?
Our Fluted Date watches come in 36mm or 39mm at the same price. 36mm is the classic size for a dress-style date watch and sits neatly on smaller and average wrists. 39mm has more presence and suits larger wrists, or anyone who prefers a bolder look. Polished Date watches are 36mm and Integrated models are 40mm.
How water resistant is it, and how do I care for it?
Each watch is rated to 100m, so rain, hand-washing and swimming are fine. Make sure the crown is fully pushed in before it gets wet, and avoid hot showers, saunas and pressing the crown underwater. Wipe it with a soft cloth after salt water or sweat.
Like any automatic, it keeps running while you wear it. If it stops after a few days off the wrist, wind the crown 20 to 30 turns or give it a gentle shake.
How do shipping and returns work?
Every watch is assembled and inspected before it ships. Orders ship from Seattle, WA, within 1 to 2 business days, and US shipping is free, tracked and insured. We currently ship within the United States only.
